Not exactly a promising preemptive concern for a film.

For most gamers, we know just what high-profile games are most likely to sale copies by the truckloads come release day; especially if you’re a world renown franchise such as Grand Theft Auto. With GTAIV’s April 29th release fast approaching, even Hollywood is taking notice and, according to anyalsts, preparing for the worst.
Iron Man debuts shortly after, on May 2, and analysts aren’t too happy about the coincidence. Afterall, the demographics targeted for Iron Man are about the same for GTAIV’s, 18-to-34. This wouldn’t be the first time; last fall, Halo 3’s success was blamed for directly contributing to bad box office sales. Really, was that the only reason?
I don’t see why anyone who really wants to see the movie couldn’t just grab GTA later or take a break from playtime, but on the other hand… I can think of plenty of other reasons to not see Iron Man, and I don’t have to buy GTAIV to get around them.
